Circular economy: the Master in Environmental Management and Control trains managers for sustainable management of "natural capital". Applications by 11 November, concessions and scholarships from INPS, Italian Regions, partner companies
Become a manager of the circular economy, contributing to the definition of strategies and tools to support a sustainable and efficient management of resources, such as water, energy and, more generally, of “natural capital”, with particular attention to the issue of waste which, from this point of view, become tools to produce new “value”. These are the professional opportunities offered by the second level University Master in Environmental Management and Control (Geca), the advanced training course promoted by the Institute of Management of the Sant’Anna School in Pisa which, for over 25 years, proposes a multidisciplinary path in the environmental sector.

In addition to a complete and integrated preparation in the environmental field, the course also offers training initiatives on how to access the world of work and on “self-promotion” techniques, for example on managing a selection interview and on how to refine personal skills, communication and self-presentation. The percentage of students who, at the end of the course, quickly find professional opportunities in line with the training objectives of the Master has always been high.
Numerous contributions and concessions are available to fully and partially cover the registration fee. In addition to the scholarships provided by INPS, training vouchers are provided by the Italian Regions and, above all, contributions from partner companies.
Graduates in possession of a master's or specialist qualification or obtained according to the old system, or who have an equivalent qualification, of the same degree, issued by an Italian or foreign university or university of the same degree may apply. Undergraduates who have completed their exams before the start of the Master and who plan to acquire the admission qualification in the extraordinary session of this part of the academic year can also apply for admission.
The University Master in Environmental Management and Control provides for a full-time commitment, lasting one year, for a total of 710 hours of classroom training, with lessons on following macro areas: fundamentals and efficient management of resources, green management & circular economy in addition to workshops, seminars, visits to companies. 480 hours of internship, between September and December 2022, integrate the training course. The lessons will take place in presence in Pisa, in compliance with the protocol against Covid-19, from 13 January to 16 December 2022.
The teachers are of high profile and of different disciplinary skills, such as university teachers, technicians, public officials, entrepreneurs, managers, freelancers working in the environmental field. A significant number of organizations and companies are also involved that contribute to the success of the course by participating in teaching and laboratories.
The second level University Master in Environmental Management and Control was born in 2007 as the first and only one in Italy that addressed the problem of the integrated cycle of waste management as a whole and constituted an evolution of the “Master in Management and Control of 'Environment”, held at the Sant'Anna School since 1996. Since 2017 the course has been oriented towards the theme of the circular economy, in the perspective of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development of the United Nations and the European Union.
